Geddes auto electrical have automotive scanner tools to test a car, van or truck computer & wiring system. We connect our scanner to your vehicle for an auto diagnostic test of the wiring and computer faults. Our scanners can read error codes and delete error codes. We can test each individual part. Geddes will connect their scanner to your car, van or truck and check the computer or computers for a history of faults. We can delete the error codes then retest the computer & wiring system.

Sometimes once deleted the error codes do not return and the vehicle is then OK to use. If the errors do return then we can continue with the car diagnostic test until we find the problem setting the computer error code. There could be a problem in the wiring, connectors or the computer itself. There could also be more than just one fault logged in the computer.

We provide cost options for the auto electrical computer repairs. For instance we can use new or second hand auto computers or maybe able to repair yours. Throughout our website we provide estimates of the usual costs for the usual automotive repairs. We repair all makes, models and years of vehicle. Our repairs can often be done while you wait, but if we cannot then we have courtesy cars available.

TEST & REPAIR AUTO ELECTRICAL COMPUTERS POSSIBLE COST

If there has just been a electrical glitch (spike??) in voltage then a simple scanner connection and fault reset could be as little as $80 + GST. This may not be a permanent repair and the error can return.

If there is a bad auto computer or wiring connection, these can be easy & some times difficult to find so could be as little as $120 to $250 + GST.

If it is an engine sensor fault, then these repairs range from around $180 to $400 + GST.

If you need another engine management computer (ECU), second hand these range $200 to $400 + GST plus testing & fitting. New computers vary greatly from $400 to $1500 + GST plus testing & fitting. Sometimes these can be repaired POA.
