FREE BRAKE CHECKS (Of Front & Rear Brakes)

Geddes recommends that you ask for a FREE brake check and estimate or quote before work is started on your vehicle.

For a FREE quote or estimate we need to test drive and check for visible faults.

A free inspection covers; a Geddes technician or mechanic will remove a front and rear wheel usually the right hand side and check for: Brake lining (shoe) and/or pad wear; Brake lining (shoes) and/or pad damage such as glazing. Glazing can be the cause of noisy auto brakes; Brake fluid and oil leaks from the brake calliper (callipers), wheel cylinders or oil seals; Damage and/or wear to disc rotors and/or brake drums; Caliper (calipers) slides to check the parts are moving freely; If required to determine a fault, Geddes may road test your vehicle.

Want to know how to check car brakes? It is best to jack up the vehicle and remove each wheel. If your vehicle has dics brakes you should be able to see the inner and outer brake pad, if you don't remove the wheels you may not see everything that should be checked. If you are checking drum brakes you may have an inspection hole at the rear of the backing plate, if not you'll need to remove the brake drum. We will check these for you free.

GEDDES will show you and explain what they find, then advise if a brake repair is required and provide estimates or quotes. If a part is difficult to source we may need to call you at a later time with the full estimate or quoted price.

TRUCK BRAKE REPAIR AUCKLAND:

Because of the size of trucks and their wheels studs and nuts, we do not remove parts free. Geddes will provide a free inspection for obvious brake problems like oil leaks, then provide an estimate of possible brake failure problem causes.

If you would like us to check your autos truck brakes and provide a firm price for the repairs, there will be a charge for this if you decide not to continue with the repair.
